Launch of Antony Loewenstein’s book in Czech translation
It has been three years since Israel began committing genocide in Gaza, alongside decades of apartheid and ethnic cleansing in the occupied Palestinian territories. Palestine has also served as an Israeli laboratory for testing weapons and surveillance technologies, which are then exported around the world with the label “battle-tested,” including to some of the worst dictatorships, such as Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Based on witness testimonies, secret documents, and on-the-ground reporting, the book by Australian investigative journalist Antony Loewenstein uncovers the links between the Israeli power structure and the technological and arms industry, which tests weapons, surveillance technologies, and tools of repression on the Palestinian population for the global market.
At present, beyond Palestine, Israeli aggression is also escalating in southern Lebanon, which is being systematically razed with little attention from international or Czech media. Representatives of the Lebanese community in Prague will share their personal experiences with Israeli occupation.
This will be followed by an online conversation with the author of the book, in which we will discuss how Gaza became a laboratory for the Israeli army. The programme will also feature a musical performance by members of the group Xadrex. (https://www.instagram.com/xadrex.7/)
