Jonathana Pielmeiera: Flying Horses

During a graduate internship in Malta with graphic designer and illustrator Craig McDonald, Jonathan Pielmeier began to explore the island, and what it means to understand oneself as an island: to let go, to become clear, to arrive at oneself. Along the way, drawings of islands and horses emerged, each horse an emotion met on this journey. They belong neither to Malta nor to Prague, but to the time in between, the space where they move. The result will be a limited risograph edition, each copy carrying one original drawing. Its final form is still unfolding, in the spirit of the artist’s diploma project “entfalten” (unfolding) which investigates the fold and the act of unfolding.
