We invite you to a Thursday reading with Norwegian reporter Åsne Seierstad and her latest book The Afghans.
*"Reality was also reflected in children's games. In the 1980s, children played at chasing Russians, in the 1990s they pretended to be various groups of Islamists." *
Åsne Seierstad returns to Afghanistan twenty years after writing her phenomenal book The Bookseller of Kabul. She tells us the stories of those who had to flee from the Taliban, as well as those who stayed in Afghanistan. The book is an intimate portrait of three people with different destinies, along with their families, friends, and acquaintances – and it is also the story of a country in an endless struggle.
The debate with Åsne Seierstad will be moderated by Hana Martínková. During the event, there will be a book signing. The event will be held in English.
The evening will end with a musical performance by Never Sol. You will be able to purchase hot and cold drinks at our bar.
