Book sales terms and conditions Effective from 28 October 2026 (2026-10-28) 1. Seller and scope The seller is Nadační fond Laichterův dům, registration number 19969171, registered office at Chopinova 1543/4, Vinohrady, 120 00 Praha 2, entered in the Foundation Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague, section N, entry 2395. Contact dobry.den@laichter.house or telephone +420 776 318 136 for orders, complaints and withdrawals. The registered office is also the address for returns and complaints. These terms cover the sale of the new printed book Laichterův dům through laichter.house to consumers buying outside their business or profession. The historical catalogue is for viewing only. An order does not include an e-book or the complete PDF. Please contact us separately for business or wholesale purchases. 2. Book, price and delivery charges Each order contains one new copy of Laichterův dům: Mezi knihou a architekturou ve víru 20. století, by Josef Holeček, Rudolf Minka and Štěpán Lars Laichter. Published by Nadační fond Laichterův dům, Prague 2026, first edition, 160 × 200 mm, Czech with an English summary, ISBN 978-80-910052-0-3. Further characteristics appear on the book page. The book costs CZK 490 and Zásilkovna delivery and packaging cost CZK 49: total CZK 539. These are final amounts including any applicable taxes and charges. We charge no card-payment surcharge. The total is shown in the order summary and payment gateway; the price shown when the order is submitted applies to that order. Delivery is available only to Zásilkovna pickup points and Z-BOXes in Czechia. This form does not offer home or international delivery, cash on delivery or collection from the seller. 3. Ordering and conclusion of the contract Enter your name, email and delivery phone number, select a pickup point and review the details and total. You can correct them in the form before submission. Accept these terms and acknowledge the privacy information using the separate, initially unchecked boxes. Selecting “Order with obligation to pay” submits the order and opens the secure Stripe payment gateway. Payment is by card in Czech crowns in advance. The contract is concluded upon successful completion of payment. Merely opening checkout, or a failed or cancelled payment, does not conclude a purchase contract; you may try again after a failed payment. Without undue delay after payment, we email confirmation of the order, its contents, price and delivery, with a copy of these terms and the model withdrawal form. Contact us if it does not arrive; if you have been charged, do not pay again before checking with us. Contracts may be concluded in Czech or English according to the selected language. We retain the order and the accepted terms electronically; you can request a copy by email. These terms can be downloaded and saved before ordering. You pay your own normal internet costs, with no special communication charge imposed by us. 4. Dispatch and collection We hand the book to Zásilkovna within 3 working days after payment. Working days are Monday to Friday excluding Czech public holidays. This is the dispatch period; transit and storage depend on the carrier, which notifies you when the parcel is ready. Unless expressly agreed otherwise, we deliver without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the contract is concluded. Contact us about delays. If we do not deliver within a reasonable additional period, you may withdraw and receive a refund. An additional period is unnecessary where the law provides, particularly if we refuse delivery or an agreed deadline was essential. We bear the risk of transit damage until you or your designated recipient take possession. Please report damage promptly, preferably with photographs. Failure to inspect immediately or notify the carrier does not restrict your statutory rights. Failure to collect alone is not withdrawal: tell us if you wish to cancel. Any redelivery and its actual costs will be agreed in advance. 5. Withdrawal within 14 days and returns As a consumer, you may withdraw without giving a reason within 14 days starting on the day after you or your designated recipient, other than the carrier, receive the book. You may also withdraw before delivery. Send a clear statement to dobry.den@laichter.house or our postal address before the deadline. The model form below is optional. We acknowledge an electronic withdrawal. Send the book back without undue delay and within 14 days after notifying us, to Nadační fond Laichterův dům, Chopinova 1543/4, Vinohrady, 120 00 Praha 2. Dispatch before the deadline is sufficient. You bear the direct cost of an ordinary return; the book can be sent by normal post. Package it to prevent damage. We refund the payments received, including the cheapest delivery option offered (currently CZK 49), within 14 days after your withdrawal notice, using the original payment method unless another free method is agreed. We may withhold the refund until we receive the book or evidence that you sent it back, whichever occurs first. You may unwrap and examine the book as necessary to establish its nature and characteristics. Original packaging is not required. You are responsible only for diminished value caused by handling beyond that necessary examination; there is no flat withdrawal penalty. The exception for delivered digital content does not apply to this ordinary printed book. 6. Defects and complaints We are responsible for the book matching its description and agreed and normally expected characteristics, without defects on delivery. You may claim for a defect that appears within 2 years after receipt. A defect appearing in the first year is presumed to have existed on delivery unless the nature of the goods or defect excludes this. Normal wear and damage caused by you are not defects for which we are responsible. You may first request repair or replacement unless your chosen remedy is impossible or disproportionately costly. A proportionate reduction or withdrawal is available in the circumstances provided by law, including failure or refusal to remedy the defect, repeated defects or a serious defect. Withdrawal is unavailable for an insignificant defect. Make a complaint to dobry.den@laichter.house or at the returns address; other statutory means remain available. Provide contact details, the order or other evidence of purchase, a description of the defect and your requested remedy. Original packaging or an original receipt is unnecessary if the purchase can be proved otherwise. Allow us to receive the book if assessment is needed. We provide confirmation of the complaint and its outcome, or written reasons for rejection. We resolve it, including remedying the defect, and notify you within 30 days unless a longer period is expressly agreed. If that period expires without resolution, you may request a reduction or withdraw. For a justified claim we reimburse reasonably incurred costs, including reasonable postage. These are statutory rights concerning defects, not an additional commercial warranty. 7. Personal data We use order data to conclude and perform the contract, deliver the book, keep required accounts and protect legal rights. Necessary details are shared with Stripe, Zásilkovna and our contracted website and transactional-email providers. Processing necessary for an order does not rely on marketing consent, and acknowledging the privacy information is not permission for advertising. Details and your rights are in the Privacy Policy at laichter.house/en/legal/privacy. 8. Complaints and dispute resolution Please first contact dobry.den@laichter.house so we can seek a direct resolution. You may also use alternative consumer dispute resolution through the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Central Inspectorate – ADR Department, Gorazdova 1969/24, 120 00 Prague 2, email adr@coi.gov.cz, coi.gov.cz/informace-o-adr/. An application may be submitted within 1 year after you first asserted the right with us. Your right to go to court remains unaffected. 9. Final provisions Czech law applies, particularly Civil Code No 89/2012 and Consumer Protection Act No 634/1992. This choice does not remove mandatory consumer protection under otherwise applicable law. We are not bound by a special code of conduct for book sales. Amendments apply only to future orders; your contract remains governed by the accepted version supplied with its confirmation. Model withdrawal form Complete and send this only if you wish to withdraw. You may instead send any clear statement of withdrawal.
